September 15th through October 15th is what is known as Hispanic Heritage Month. During the month we honor and celebrate the contributions and heritage of the Hispanic Community. This celebration began back in 1968 when it was declared a national week. Later in 1988, it was suggested Hispanic Heritage Week be changed into Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic people across the country contribute to society and their communities in many ways.
